PROM programme – International scholarship exchange of PhD candidates and academic staff

The aim of the project is to create a mechanism of financial support for scholarship exchange of PhD candidates and academic staff programmes.

Participants

PhD students registered at the partner university and academic staff under 40 y.o.* employed at the partner university, call for application is open to anyone who meets either of two conditions.

*participant must be under 40 y.o. while carrying out the activity

Qualification

Applicants file online form with a confirmation of nomination signed by home institution (template)

Application period: 1 Feb 2019 – 3 March 2019, 8 April 2019 – 5 May 2019 (if funds are still available)

Forms of activity

• active participation in conference organized by University of Szczecin (PhD students),
• data collection – obtaining materials for a PhD thesis/scientific article (PhD students and academic staff members),
• participation in preparation of an international grant application (academic staff members)

All activities should be concluded by 29 Sept 2019

Budget

Flat rates calculated on the basis of length of stay and travel distance, conference fee if applicable, please note that all the rates are given in Polish Złoty (PLN), 1 EUR= 4,30 PLN

Minimal number of scholarships

• active participation in conference (8 scholarships forPhD students);
• data collection – obtaining materials (8 scholarships for PhD students and 2 scholarships for academic staff members);
• preparation of grant application (2 scholarships for academic staff members).

Rules of financing

5 days – 4000 PLN
7 days – 4 840 PLN
16 days – 8 450 PLN

Travel grant: one-way travel distance between place of your residence and University of Szczecin according to a calculator provided by European Commision https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/resources/distance-calculator_en

3000 km – 6000 km  –  4000 PLN
over 6000 km – 5000 PLN

Accomodation

We will assist you with finding satisfactory accomodation, either in the hotel, an apartament or university facility (student dormitory or assistants’ hotel), the costs of the accomodations should be covered with the scholarship

Conference (5-day scholarship): there’s a list of conferences organized by the University of Szczecin provided below, it is not obligatory to register to the conference before receiving scholarship confirmation, we will inform the organizers that you are willing to participate in the conference and you will register after receiving scholarship confirmation

Data collection – obtaining materials (16-day scholarship): there’s a list of laboratories provided below that is ready to host applicants, please read description of the labs and decide which one you would like to visit, use of equipment is free of charge however the costs reagents you may need are to be covered either with the scholarship or other funds. Describe in your application form research you would like to conduct and you will receive estimate of the costs before deciding on participation in the programme. Due to organizational reasons we would like to host participants either in April 2019 or in June 2019.

International grant application (7-day scholarship): University of Szczecin is ready to start scientific collaboration with your university, please provide information on the project you would like to carry out (type of the project, possible sources of funding, other institutions involved) and we will do our best to find staff/unit at our university that will meet with you to discuss collaboration with you.
