Functional and Structural Human Research Centre

Functional and Structural Human Research Centre is a unit within Faculty of Physical Education and Health Promotion. There are four fully equipped laboratories conducting research in sports and medicine. Please, have a look at detailed information here

2. Department of Hydrobiology and General Zoology
A laboratory base available under the supervision of an employee of the Department of Hydrobiology and General Zoology.

– preparation of tissue for study, analysis of tissue structures under a microscope, measurement of structures under a microscope with computer software
– computer analysis of semen
– study of the influence of environmental factors on sperm motility and vitality
– zooplankton ecology in rivers and lakes as well as dam reservoirs
– macrozoobenthos ecology in rivers and lakes
– ichthyofauna ecology in rivers and lakes
– biological indicators of water status

prof. Katarzyna Dziewulska
– histological technique – preparation of microscopic slide from tissue, computer assisted analysis of tissue, structure measurement under microspope using computer software (gamatogenesis and gonadal cycle of fish)
– computer assisted sperm analysis- investigation of influence of environmental factors on spermatozoa motility , vitality (mostly fish)

Dr. Łukasz Sługocki

1. Research on zooplankton communities (Rotifera, Cladocera, Copepoda). Field and experimental studies.
2. Equipment for sampling of aquatic micro-invertebrates: nets, samplers. Multiparameter probe. Optical microscopes. Laminar chamber. Access to the Rotifera, Cladocera and Copepoda taxonomic keys.

3. Department of the Vertebrates Zoology and Anthropology

– fly initiation dystans (FID) and breeding success in individualy marked urban population of European blackbirds Turdus merula.

Phd Student will take a part in studies of ecology individually marked European blackbirds in Zeromski park in Szczecin

4. Department of Botany and the Preservation of Nature

5. The Center of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology – Laboratory of the Environmental Researches (center is located in Małkocin, ca. 40 km outside of Szczecin)

Research offer:
Image research using a scanning electron microscope in the field of botany.
Apparatus and laboratory equipment available:
• scanning electron microscope EVO 10 LS and instrumentation in the form of a dryer
at the critical point and sprayers, enabling professional preparation of biological samples for imaging.
• highly specialized stereoscopic SteREO Lumar V12 microscope,
• basic laboratory equipment (driers, incubators, laboratory scales, automatic pipettes).
Terms of use:
Coverage of the cost of height consumables depending on the number of tests performed
(eg: compressed nitrogen, argon, tables, tape, fiber, gold plate for dusting).
